Story: This documentary film features Parvathy Baul, from a lineage of wandering singing yogis, embodying the world of 'spiritual practice', which Japan and India have much in common with.

Parvathy has been on the Baul path for almost 30 years. The Baul tradition is a spiritual lineage of singing yogis that has been passed down in Bengal since the eighth century. The resonance of her singing voice is an expression of her life and soul, rooted in her yogic practice. In November 2023, Parvathy arrived in Japan, offering performances at many spiritual sites. Born into a brahmin family, her path was not always accepted by others. She wished to tour Japan so that she could interact with the local spiritual culture, which shares many similarities with India's. Through her singing and dancing, Parvathy shows us the abundant world known only to those who have crossed the 'river'. Towards the end of the trip, she resonates deeply with a Japanese historical practitioner. And something completely unexpected happens… Her overwhelming presence and voice shine on our hearts like a beam of light.
